Backyard Oasis II
Located in the same Arizona backyard as “Backyard Oasis I”, my friend Gina invited me back to paint the other two large cinderblock walls surrounding her pool, because you can never have too much color!
Like her first mural, these designs were sketched freehand directly on the wall, lending itself to a more organic and free flowing result. For this project, Gina was inspired by the vibrant, patterned oil cloth table coverings that can sometimes found at Mexican restaurants. She was especially interested in a concept that evoked day and night, as well as including lots of baby pink, fruit, and tropical floral motifs.
After completing this mural, Gina’s bougainvillea and fruit trees began to grow in front of the wall, effortlessly blending with the colors and vibe of the art. It has been a treat to witness this space change and grow over the years with its natural surrounding environment. This piece has made such a huge impact on the overall energy of her outdoor space, and I’m so grateful I was entrusted to be a part of bringing it to life!
