Better Together

Residing in the beautiful and diverse City Heights neighborhood, Mid-City Nazarene is not only a church, but a community hub where individuals can access services and resources such as weekly food distribution, free dental care, legal resources for immigrants and more.

Funded by LoveWorks, I set out to fill the neglected and highly trafficked alley behind the church with an inviting message and imagery. The design features a peace dove, papel de picado, protestors for peace puppies, kids playing, a world in bloom, and monarch butterflies. This mural was painted with the help of many community members. Witnessing volunteers warmth, and pride in their neighborhood was extremely special.
