Garden Mural
In partnership with ArtReach San Diego, I had the opportunity to lead a multi-week mural club with a group Pride Academy’s 8th grade artists. Spanning the length of a long exterior wall facing their school’s vibrant garden, this project served as a legacy piece for the graduating class. Many of the student’s involved had attended Pride since they were in kindergarten and expressed excitement about having contributed to a lasting piece of art on their school’s campus. When designing this mural, I took inspiration from student sketches and group discussions about their vision for the wall. Many of their ideas centered on showcasing the incredible plants and veggies that were being grown in the garden as well as a handful of pollinators and local wildlife that call the space home.
