Pacific View Leadership Elementary

This mural at Pacific View Leadership Elementary in San Diego was created in partnership with ArtReach and the PVLE 5th grade class. The project initially began in March of 2020, but was unfortunately interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing it to be placed on hold. After overcoming many hurdles, the mural resumed nearly two years later, through careful coordination, renewed planning, and the dedication of everyone involved, making the finished piece a true example of resilience and perseverance.

The imagery was pulled from student drawings and brainstorming sessions, which was then refined and brought together in my signature bright, bold style. The mural celebrates themes that were important to the students, including nature, acceptance, community, music, reading, and pursuing our dreams. By showcasing student ideas and creativity, the project reflects the voices of the PVLE community, while transforming a main courtyard area into a vibrant story of hope and togetherness.
