I was honored to partner with San Diego FC through the club’s Playmakers program, an initiative that collaborates with local artists to celebrate the vibrant culture of San Diego. For the team’s July 5th home game, I was asked to design a special line of merchandise inspired by a drawing from SDFC super fan Ben Bryan. Ben is a local artist with autism, who has a passion for inventing new sports team mascots. He was inspired to draw a zebra mascot for SDFC with 18 stripes, representing the 18 communities that make up San Diego.
I worked closely with Ben to bring his vision to life, using his ideas to refine a final design that was featured on a range of merchandise- including T-shirts, scarves, pins, and patches. This collaboration was a true celebration of community, creativity and inclusion.
