Rubidoux High School Stairs
This mural came to life in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic as a way to safely collaborate with community over the shared goal of invigorating a public space with color, hope, and connection. During the pandemic, I was left with lots of time to daydream and visualize future creative goals; one of which was painting my first staircase. When educators at Rubidoux high school reached out with a photo of their 60 ft, outdoor, public facing staircase I knew this was the perfect opportunity for me to expand my skills as a muralist, give back to a deserving public school and safely spend time with friends outdoors. Over 30 volunteers came together to work alongside me and help make this project a reality! I truly view this mural as a physical manifestation of human’s need for community and our collective resilience in even the most challenging times.
