Ladies Who Paint
Ladie’s Who Paint (since closed), was a non profit organization empowering female muralists through community, resources, and a platform to showcase their work. Each year they put on an all female mural walk in East Village, San Diego.
Alongside 9 other talented artists, I was invited to partake in the 2021 event, and given a large wall to execute a design of my choice.
As we were all beginning to slowly emerge from the heaviness and isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic, I felt it was more important than ever to spread a message of connection and community. This piece was meant to serve as a reminder that seemingly small gestures like a smile or warm meal could uplift someone’s day and encourage passerby’s to take care of each other- because we’re all we got.
